Tales from the Crypt
The NHL lockout is a worthwhile discussion at the local watering hole, if for no other reason, because of the lack of interest in it. But Archie Bennitz was so pissed off at the lack of negotiations, he instructed his son to express Archie's displeasure in Archie's death notice:
Bennitz called (NHL Commissioner Gary) Bettman and (union leader Bob) Goodenow “skunks for denying him the pleasure of watching the NHL on TV this year,” the obituary in the Ottawa Citizen read. Bennitz also urged Bettman to step aside in favor of Wayne Gretzky.
I've heard about burying a grudge, but sheesh!
